John E. Brewer, 79, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 11, 2024 surrounded by loved ones at his home.

He was born September 3, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Morris Daniel Brewer and Mildred Juanita (nee Oliver) Brewer-Gaskin.

He had worked in various career roles throughout St. Louis and Jefferson City, Missouri and was particularly fond of his time volunteering with Food Outreach in St. Louis while always supporting various other charities.  He also proudly served as a member of the HIV Health Services Planning Council for many years for the City of St. Louis.  He greatly enjoyed giving to others, swimming, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Ronald(Carla) Brewer of Maryville, Illinois; granddaughter Carrie Brewer of Maryville, Illinois; son-in-law Glenn (Vicky) Moore of Granite City, Illinois; granddaughter and grandson-in-law Jacqueline and Jason Stroud of Collinsville, Illinois; great grandsons Drew Stroud and Owen Stroud of Collnsville, Illinois; Aunt Clara Hornung of St. Louis, Missouri; many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

In addition to his beloved parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Robyn Moore; brother Richard Brewer and twin sisters Linda Falke and Glenda Schell.

In celebration of his life, a memorial will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Food Outreach.
