John Everette Breig
John Everette Breig, 67, peacefully passed away on August 18th, 2021 surrounded by his family after bravely fighting a long illness.
He was born on July 5, 1954 in Saint Louis to the late Everette Breig and Ethelreda Breig (Lindenbusch) and brother to Cheryl (Vernon) Allen, Debbie (the late Bill) Douglas, and Jim (Terri) Breig. He met the love of his life, Stephanie Breig (Valicevich), and spent nearly 46 years of marriage together in their home in Crestwood.
He was exceptionally proud of his children, Elizabeth Breig-Warren, and Matthew Breig and lovingly welcomed Joshua Warren and Lauren Breig (Grigg) as his own. He was “Papa John” to Alexandra and John (Jack) Warren who will incredibly miss their afternoons with their grandfather. John was an uncle to seven, a baseball, T-Ball, and soccer coach to hundreds of children in the Saint Louis area, and the sweetest friend to many. His genuine personality and infectious laugh will be intensely missed.
A celebration of his life will be at a later date when we can properly toast to the life of this great man.

I have wonderful memories of the life we shared as siblings. John will be in my thoughts forever.

Poem I wrote about John and Steph few years ago – even more special to me now.
The older that you get in life, you stop and think about the things
That God has granted to us all; like friendships and the love they bring.
John and Steph are special friends it’s hard sometimes to put in words
How special that they are to us and just how much we thank the Lord
I know that they both care for us, we for them and both their kids;
Elizabeth and Matt, fine people, because of what their parents did.
Similar to both of ours; successful, moral, kind and good
You try to teach them your beliefs, and they respond (you knew they would)
Camping trips, and playing golf, (John and I have memories)
Staying weekends at the lake, fishing trips, and other things
Through the years we had such fun spending time with one another
Sometimes I needed hope and prayer I feel that John was like a brother
Love you John, and miss you so much already.

You are all in my thoughts at this time. I will miss his laugher. The 50 years of loving friendship and great times spent together in St. Louis and in Las Vegas were such a blast. Thank you for sharing your wedding date with me. My mom Pansy loved you and was so proud to have John walk her down yet isle when she got married. Stephanie you were so blessed to be married to John, he really was the best. John will be missed so much but never out of my thought and memories.❤️❤️
John I will forever have the memories of you giving me rocks to eat when I was little. You invented the candy rocks :-). You will be missed.
