John Francis Skelly

John Francis Skelly, known to his friends and family as Jack, passed Thursday, September 21st at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife Eileen, children, grand-children, and great grand-children. Jack was born in New York City a second generation Irish-American. After serving his country in the United States Air Force he worked as an operating Engineer at Lincoln Center in New York for 37 years before retiring to Chesterfield, Mo to be near his grand-children.. Jack was a servant leader, always putting others first and seeing the strength of each person he met. His favorite saying was “Give me Strength!” and you’d rarely catch him without a smile. Jack and Eileen were married for 17 beautiful years. He was a gentleman, a veteran, a man of honor and integrity who made a lasting impact to all who knew him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be remembered fondly and missed until we meet again in Heaven. Jack exited as a humanitarian, offering his body to Saint Louis University for research. On Saturday, September 30th, 2017 a memorial mass will be held at Saint James the Greater at 10:00 am, followed by a Military Honors service at Jefferson Barracks at 11:30 am.
