John Harvath

John Robert Harvath, 81, of St. Peters, Missouri, entered into his eternal reward Monday, August 12, 2019 at his home in the comfort of his wife and sons.

John was born September 2, 1937 in St. Louis to John Joseph and Roberta Alta (nee Owsley) Harvath. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1962. On June 29, 1963 he married Josephine “Josie” (nee Jewell) in St. Louis. John was employed as a journeyman machinist for a variety of companies including McDonnell Douglas, Universal Match, Ferguson Machine and Printpack.

John is survived by his wife Josephine, sons Robert “Rob” (Meredith) of New York City, and Gary (Jennifer) of St. Charles, brother Richard “Rick”, seven grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Roberta and his sisters Carole Lato and Mary Mende.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, fixing things around the house and spending time with his beloved wife of 56 years.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24 from 3-6pm at Embassy Suites in St. Charles.
