John J. Drozd
April 13, 1948- February 13, 2025
John Drozd, originally from Chicago’s south side, was an avid Chicago sports fan. The Cubs
were his favorite but the White Sox held a special place in his heart.
John was a lover of music and all things Jeopardy. He passed his love of music to his daughter
and grandson. John was a brilliantly smart man, whose love of numbers could be seen in his
everyday life. John lived for solving numeric puzzles, problems, or equations. While he tried to
pass that love of numbers along to his family members, they never caught on to that passion.
John leaves behind a daughter, Erin Drozd and a grandson, Sean Worden. John loved both dearly.
While John kept his circle small, it was filled with love, respect, and admiration. His circle
included good friends like Bill, Johnny, Liz, Matt, and Zippo. His friends also included many
former work peers and neighbors from where he lived in Centralia, Il.
John was a Vietnam veteran, who proudly served two tours overseas. His respect for his fellow
veterans was unrelenting.
John will be missed by all who knew him. Love you, Dad.
