John Salvatore Jakul, 52, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on May 18th, 2026. He was born in St. Louis on November 12th, 1973.
John was preceded in death by his beloved son, Zachary L Jakul (25), who passed away on March 22, 2018.
He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 20 years, Melissa Nicole Jakul; his sons, Nikolas Nordin (21), Alexander Jakul (17) and Leonard Jakul (9); his stepson, Devon Kuhlmann (22); along with many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
John had a personality that could light up any room. He was known for his larger-than-life presence, his gift for storytelling, and his ability to make those around him laugh. Whether he was sharing stories from his past or enjoying his passion for Legos, he brought enthusiasm and energy to everything he did.
He rarely sat still and was always planning the next adventure. Even on quiet days, John preferred to stay busy, often convincing his family that there was somewhere to go or something to do. His adventurous spirit made life exciting, and his wife and kids will forever treasure the memories they created together.
Those who knew John will remember his honest nature and unwavering authenticity. He spoke his mind with sincerity, and whether his words were what you wanted to hear or not, they always came from a place of truth. Beneath his straightforward personality was a man with a generous heart, deep compassion, and fierce love for his wife and kids. The bond they shared was one of unwavering love, loyalty, and partnership.
John’s passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him most. While his family mourns his absence every day, they find comfort in the memories they shared and in the belief that his love and spirit will remain with them always.
