John Paul McDaniel

John Paul McDaniel, 75, of Festus, Missouri passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at his home after a 5+ year battle with lymphoma. 

He was born January 11, 1949 in Bonne Terre, Missouri to the late James Austin McDaniel, Sr and the late Helen E (Buscher) McDaniel. John grew up in Bonne Terre and graduated high school from Mehlville Sr. High School in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1973. 

John married Janet Klussman in 1970 and they spent 53+ years together. 

John had many careers. He worked for the State of Missouri, Division of Youth Services, The City of Bonne Terre as a police officer, North St. Francois County School District as an elementary art teacher and as a machine builder. 

John enjoyed riding and racing motorcycles, rebuilding and flying his airplane, restoring and driving European sports cars.

Mourning his death are his wife, Janet; son, John Paul McDaniel II; daughter-in-law, Amy (Glaze) McDaniel; 2 grandchildren, Max and Molly McDaniel, all of Festus; a brother, Fred McDaniel of Bonne Terre and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Jim and younger brother, Phil.

Adhering to John’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
