John Richard Stolitza

Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, John passed away with his family present on September 17, 2017.

Born on March 31, 1950, in St. Louis, John was the son of Alex and Joan May (Carson) Stolitza. John worked for many years as a Registered Pharmacist. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Lea Curran, children John D. Stolitza, Jennifer (Paul) Hart, grandchild Ethan Hart, step-children Brittany (Justin) Ghani, Robert Schulte, and Conor Schulte, step-grandchildren Lila Ghani, Paul and Holly Hart, brothers Nikolai (Lori) and Alexander (Gary) Stolitza.

He was a brother in law to Patricia Curran (the late Walter)Crawford, Colleen (Ray) Schulte, Timothy (Jackie) Curran), Jeanne (John) Zeiser, the late John Curran, Thomas Curran, Daniel (the late Dolores) Curran, and Lisa (Darell) Boulicault.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Assumption Catholic Church (Mattese), 4725 Mattis Road, St. Louis, MO 63128. Mass will begin at 12:00 p.m. and burial at Resurrection Cemetery, 6901 MacKenzie Road, St. Louis, MO 63123, using the main entrance facing Watson Road.

A celebration of John’s life will be held in the lower level of Assumption Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the World Bird Sanctuary, 125 Bald Eagle Ridge Rd., Valley Park, MO 63088.

John was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing, hunting, camping and boating. He played the lottery every week and kept a list of family, friends and charities who would receive his potential winnings.

John was proud of his Native American Indian heritage and belonged to the Chippewa Tribe of Leach Lake, Minnesota.

You knew a corny joke was coming when John had that twinkle in his eye. He loved to make people laugh. He will be missed by so many people plus his dog “Barney”, and Quaker bird “Blue Boy”.
