John Oliver Thompson, Jr. 75 of St. Louis, MO passed away on Wednesday April 6, 2016 from complications of esophageal cancer at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Louis.

The body was cremated and remains will be buried in Albany, MO at a private service at a later date.

John was born in Albany, MO on December 27, 1940. The son of John Oliver “Doc” and Mildred Sarah (Anderson) Thompson. He graduated from AHS in 1959. He served in the Army and worked a civil service job at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his paretns, a sister Judy Cason, brother-in-law Ted Carter, and a niece Brenda Buckley.

He is survived by his sister Mary Ann Carter of Oxford, Iowa, his niece Carole Ann (Kenny) Hebl of Oxford, Iowa, his niece Vicki (Rick) McCoy of Dallas, TX, and two nephews Phillip R. Parks and John J. Parks of Arkansas.
