Jon was our daughter Charlotte’s swim coach at U City, 4th through 7th grades. We admired his easy way with the kids, getting them to love swimming, learn how to be a team and be competitive from within themselves, all while having fun. He was responsible for creating many great friendships and being your friend even if your relationship was only as your daughter’s coach. He will be long remembered and missed.

Reading this tribute to Jon makes me sad I didn’t get the opportunity to know him…what I did know is how happy he made Katie. And, I’m so very sorry his life was cut way too short. Katie, sending you an abundance of strength and resilience. And, of course, a very big Dale Carnegie hug! Julie

As Jon‘s childhood swim coach I can attest to his gigantic heart, buoyant spirit, and how his fearless nature inspired everyone around him. I was immensely proud to have been his coach. The loss of a young husband and father and son like Jon is heartbreaking, and my memories of him as a brave young athlete with a magnetic smile and boundless intensity still resonate. I wish I had spent more time with him as an adult, he is missed by so many.

I went to middle school with Jon and we stayed friends through high school and college. What a kind, thoughtful, funny person he was. I always loved spending time with him. I am so sad to hear of his passing. Katie- I’ve always been an avid picture person even as a kid. I’d be happy to send you old pictures of him to keep for your daughter.
