Joseph Alonzo

Alonzo, Joseph Francis (Cooker)

At the age of 61 Joe joined the Lord on Sunday, September 8, 2019. Beloved husband of Mary Patricia Patty Alonzo (nee Heitkamp). A dearly beloved father to Loretta (Nathan) Dunkmann, Nicholas (Erin) Alonzo, and Patrick Alonzo. Fun loving Grandfather of six; Kurtis, Russell, Oliver, Morgan, Molly, and Lucy. Brother of David Alonzo, Robert Alonzo, Mary Ann Charpentier, and Joanie Stauder. Preceded in Death by his beloved mother and father, Joseph and Emilia Alonzo.

Joe went to heaven surrounded by his wife and all three of his children. He is remembered by all for his sense of humor; a trait that was still prevalent until the day he succumbed to Lewy Body’s Dementia. Joseph was diagnosed three years prior to his passing and through it all Joe was always surrounded by family and friends to make sure he was always as comfortable as possible.

Services will be held on Friday September 13, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Dardenne Catholic Church. Visitation at 9am with a memorial mass starting at 10am. A reception to follow at the ICD Knights of Columbus hall.

In honor of Joe’s love for animals we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Five Acres Animal Shelter.

Joe or “Cooker” as I knew him in college was someone who always had a smile on his face. He was one year ahead of me and transferred to a different school the year I started Rolla in ’77. But he was around for party weekends and always making people laugh. Who would have known that all these years later, his son Patrick Joseph would ask my daughter Andrea Lynn for her hand in marriage. I couldn’t be more happy about this. Peace be with you Cooker and I will see you again some day!

Cooker will be greatly missed. He aĺways had a smile and was a very positive, fun person. He and Patty were family favorites when he and she came to Lacey family functions. They always brought much joy and life. My heart goes out to Patty and family.
