He served in the Air National Guard and worked as a salesman. He later became a truck driver for his family’s company, Philipp Transit Lines. Afterward, he launched his own venture, JCP Enterprises, and concluded his professional journey at Yellow Freight, retiring as a proud Teamster.
Joseph was a committed public servant, and he served as both a Councilman and Washington City Assessor. Later in retirement he served as Chairman for the Washington Area Ambulance District, where he played a pivotal role in constructing their new building.
In retirement, his most favorite times were spent in his backyard building bonfires with the neighbors and playing board games with his 3 granddaughters with much laughter and great enjoyment by all.
His faith, in The Good Lord as he would say, was a cornerstone of his life. Joe’s commitment to his loved ones and service to his community was evident in all aspects of his life. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
