Joseph Dale Ali
Joseph Dale Ali, formerly known as Joseph Dale Doty was born on May 10, 1980, and passed away suddenly on Monday, July 25, 2022 in St. Louis County, MO.
Joe lived his entire life in St. Louis. He enjoyed traveling with his family. One of his favorite places was the beach. It did not matter what beach, as long as there was sand, ocean and his family by his side.
If there was one thing Joe was, he was determined…
After being laid off from his nine to five job, he began searching for other opportunities and his desire to be an entrepreneur was discovered. In April 2012, Joe bought his first Italian Ice Cart and the rest is history. JJ’s Italian Ice was founded. He spent summers selling his Italian Ice and forming relationships in the community. He was honored to be invited to participate in the Annie Malone Parade in 2013.
Joe was very proud when he obtained his CDL license and began his career of driving over the road. In May of 2018 he purchased his first semi-truck. He went on to purchase five additional semis in the next few years and was the owner/operator of Eyes of Creations of St. Louis, MO.
This was a great fit for Joe as it enabled him to be self-employed and also allowed him to travel the country. His son, Chase and Chase’s mom, Johnetta were able to travel with him at times. These were some of his happiest moments.
No matter the circumstance, you’d always leave with a story of something funny/crazy Joe did while you were with him. He was generous, fearless and left an impression on everyone he met. He was a loving dad, a great son and friend to many.
Joe was preceded in death by his dad, Garrick Doty, step-daughter, Carieal Doss, grandparents, Robert and Shirley Barklage and Nancy Crowell.
Joe leaves behind his cherished son, Chase, and his loving mom, Sandra Aldridge (Charles). He also is dearly missed by his former wife/special friend, Johnetta Doss and brother, Christopher Ziegler, “brother”, Stuart Hedges, and his stepchildren, JaCorren, Madyson and Ethan Doss.
Each of his Aunts, Karen (Doug) Muller, Kelly (Albert) Vance, Denise Jones, and Tammy (Sean) Walsh were blessed to have a special relationship with Joe. Many of his cousins had individual and special bonds with Joe also. Jenna (Steve) West, Robert (Tabby) Kroeger, Brad Muller, Misty Todd, Sean and Kayelee Walsh. Joe also left several other relatives and friends from all over the country.
The memories that we all share of Joe’s antics, his smile and especially his laugh will give us comfort.
A Celebration of Life for Joseph will be held on Saturday, August 6th, 2022 at The American Legion Hall 9655 Midland. Overland Mo 63114 from 1PM-5PM
I grew up a street over from Joe, I’ve known him for the better part of my life. I will always remember his smile and his ability to hug a bad mood right out of me. I admire his drive and determination, he was always “paper chasin”. I will always keep my memories of him close to my heart. My sincerest condolences to alln of his loved ones!
Joe always called me grandma and gave me a big hug whenever he saw me. He was a kind and generous man and willing to help anyone. I will miss you Joe
Joe and I were neighbors and close friends as very young children. He was a sweet boy then and grew into an ever better man. I was so happy when I heard he found love with another classmate of ours from high-school, Johnetta. Two of the sweetest people I have ever known, even from a distance. Through watching their tough parenthood journey while welcoming Baby Chase, my prayers over their family were constant. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Joe’s family and friends. May he find peace everlasting and may his spirit shine on with his legacy. Love & Light!
Rest easy fam

Joey & I were high school buddies. He was always in a good mood, uplifting and cheerful. Cool guy! I am just learning of the passing of my old friend. Although we hadn’t been in contact for years, I am heartbroken to hear about it. I couldn’t pay my respects to him so I am doing so here. Get your rest buddy. Condolences to the family and close friends.
Thank you to everyone who left such kind words of my son Joe.
Rip Joey, you were a great friend. I really cherished those times. A big teddy bear is what I used to call you. Soooo sweet. I wish a lot was different but until we meet again
