Joseph Gobert

Joseph “Joe” Gobert, age 78 years formerly of Mallet, Church Point, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana was lost to his family and friends on September 1, 2015 in St. Louis, Missouri after a gradual decline in health, was born March 4, 1937 to Lawrence and Catherine Godeaux Gobert.

Predeceased by his father, mother, stepmothers Mary Dester Gobert and Elizabeth Flavin Gobert, sisters Victorine G. Guillory and Ophelia G. Leday.

Joe will be missed by daughter Josette Gobert Peyton, St. Louis, Mo., three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brothers: Lawrence Gobert, Robert (Dorothy) Gobert, Michael Gobert, Richard Gobert, Church Point, LA, Norris (Joyce) Gobert, Lake Charles, LA, Johnny (Lenora) Gobert, Orlando, FL, Nebert (Donna) Gobert, Duson, LA, Hilery (Bonnie) Gobert, Atlanta, GA, Gilbert Gobert, Dallas, TX, and Gregory (Vivian) Gobert, Lithia Springs, GA. Sisters: Josie (J.C. ) Guillory, Velma G. Gallien, Lake Charles, LA, Agnes Gobert-Harrel and Rita Gobert, Baton Rouge, LA.

“Joe” served in the U. S. Air Force from 1955 – 1960 and he was a long distance truck driver upon his discharge from the military.

Services: A memorial service celebrating Joe’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday September 19, 2015 at Saint Ann Catholic, 7248 Highway 190, Mallet, Louisiana 70550. Rev. Borgia Aubespin, SVD officiating.
