Passed away in his home on January 26, 2017.
Born October 30, 1948. Beloved husband of Margaret Ott who passed before; cherished father of Michelle Grotts (John); adored grandfather of Morgan Grotts; treasured son of Elizabeth Ott; son of Ray Kerschner who passed before; step-son of Ed Ott who passed before; son-in-law of Charles and Rosemary Paterson who passed before; dear brother of John Ott (Delene), Steve Ott, Barb Kleine (Dennis), Tim Ott (Ann), Deb Tyree (Steve), and Chuck Ott; wonderful uncle and great-uncle to many; and friend to many more.
Joe grew up in Tiffin, Ohio. He graduated from Divine Word Seminary Highschool in Perrysburg, Ohio, attended Divine Word Seminary College in Epworth, Iowa, and went on to achieve a bachelor degree from Saint Louis University in general studies. He worked for the Little Sisters of the Poor, DePaul Hospital, Missouri Department of Social Services – Division of Family Services, Ticor Title Company, First American Title Company, and Missouri Department of Insurance amongst others. After retiring, he volunteered to assist with tax preparation through the American Association of Retired Persons.
Services: Memorial service will be held Thursday, February 2 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 5020 Rhodes Avenue, Saint Louis, MO at 11 am with greeting time for family and friends at 10:30 am. Friends and family will gather after the service.
