Joseph S. Vacca, 65, of Waterloo, IL entered eternal rest with our Holy Father on June 26, 2021 in St. Louis, MO. He was born July 27, 1955 in St. Louis, MO.

He is survived by the love of his life Mechelle Childers; children: Ryan (Ryan Burke) Vacca and Dana Gallo; grandchildren: Graham Vacca, Foster Vacca, Nick Gallo and Gianni Gallo; brothers: Michael (Becky), Matthew (Cameron), Daniel (Renee), John (Kelley) Vacca; sister Tari Suter; nieces; nephews; many friends and his beloved dog “Rudy.”

He is preceded in death by his parents Dr. Joseph Vacca and Martha “Marty” (nee Laster) Vacca, brother Mark Vacca, son-in-law Anthony Gallo and sister-in-law Maureen Vacca.

Joe loved to work outside and enjoyed repairing or improving anything. Nothing was ever too daunting for him to try. He had a kind soul with anyone or anything that was less fortunate than him. His adoration for animals was paramount, from helping a turtle cross the road, to donating money for an animal in need. He was also there for anyone who asked for his help and said, “Yes, I’ll be there,” and he was. Movies, motorcycles, firearms and playing the drums were his favorite pastimes, and he could easily quote movie lines and use them in his conversations. However, spending time with those he loved was his most valued treasure.

He will be missed dearly and cherished always. “Endeavor to persevere” my love.

Memorial Mass:
Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at St. Ambrose on the Hill at 4pm with a reception in the church hall after Mass.
