Joseph Visconti

Visconti, Joseph (Joe) F., loving husband and father passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2021 at the age of 83.

Joe was born on July 18, 1937 in St. Louis, MO to Nevio and Dena (Lingua) Visconti. Preceded in death by his father, mother, and son, Jeffrey Visconti. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Stephanie (Pallardy) Visconti, his four sons – Greg, Tony, Nick, and Doug, his sister Dorothy (Visconti) Cissell, his grandchildren Alex, Abbie, Sophie, and Anthony, as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

Joe was a CBC Cadet and graduated in 1955. He went on to serve his country in the Army from 1955-1961. He took command of Visconti Farms from his father in the early 1970’s and remained the owner/operator until the land was purchased by St. Louis County in 1995. The farm provided fresh local produce and flowers to the public and afternoons at the stand were often crowded with folks picking up a bundle of veggies to take home for dinner that evening.

Later in life, Pop was happiest working in the garden, watching Cardinal games, and spending time with his grandkids.

I’m so sorry for the loss of Joe, it was an honor to know him and to be part of his family. I will forever carry many great memories of him at the farm, and I was glad to get to see him a couple of years ago. I know he will be missed by many.
