Josephine Harvath

Josephine “Josie” Harvath nee Jewell entered into her eternal reward November 15, 2023 in Saint Peters, MO in the comfort of her home. Josie was born August 11, 1941 in Oxford, England to Violet (Templer) and Richard Jewell.

On June 29, 1963 she married John Robert Harvath in Saint Louis, MO.

Josie was a devoted wife and mother. She was employed for many years at McKelvey-Kessler Oldsmobile in Ferguson, MO.

Josie is survived by her sons Robert (Meredith) of New York City and Gary (Jennifer) of Saint Charles, MO, her grandchildren Margot Fletcher (Nicholas), Elizabeth, Blake, Olivia, Lauren Herrmann (Alex), Raven and Nathan, great grandchild Phoenix, her nieces and nephews and her brothers Melvyn, Michael and David.

She was exceedingly grateful to her niece Tina (Lato) Schaffer who provided loving care and friendship for the last four years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Glenys and brother John and her husband of 56 years.

She enjoyed sharing life with her beloved husband John and providing a loving home for her family.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Boys Town of Nebraska or Shriners Hospital for Children.

A funeral mass will be offered at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 601 N. Fourth St., St. Charles, MO on Wednesday, November 22 at 10am. Luncheon to follow at Pio’s Restaurant, 403 First Capitol Drive, St. Charles, MO from 11:30am-2:30pm.

    I had met Josie threw phobia class we both took she was kind thoughtful stunning beautiful lady inside and out will miss you prayers to the family

    Even tho it sadden me .. I want to believe she is with her husband , brother (john) her sister & mum and is at peace… her life and memories will live on threw us all xx

    I still can not believe your not here with us anymore. You are now at peace and pain free, but best of all you’re with your loving husband John, big brother John, Glenys and Mum & Dad.

    Although across the pond, the memories of your visits to oxford were special to me,at a time I needed someone to talk too, and tell me things would be OK. You’ve wanted to reunite with the three Js, John ,John, and jesus, now you are together with family and loved ones, RIP 🙏 xx
