Judith Carolyn Campbell Sealand

Judith Carolyn Campbell Sealand died in Ozark, MO on April 10, 2021after a lengthy illness. She was born in October, 1939 in Birmingham, Alabama to William Bruce Campbell and Martha Ruth (Marcrum) Campbell.

‘Judy’ graduated from Deer Park High School, Deer Park, Texas, in 1958. She graduated from the University of Texas Dental Branch School of Dental Hygiene, Houston, Texas.

She married Edmond Marshall Sealand on November 30, 1963 in Beaumont, Texas, where her daughter, Debra Kaye Sealand was born in 1965.

Judy had been a charter member of the Sabine District Dental Hygiene Society and worked with Dr. White in Beaumont for over ten years.

After moving to Tyler, Texas in 1971, she worked at the Tyler Junior College Dental Hygiene School as a clinical instructor.

In 1987, Grace Community Church, where she and her family worshipped, invited her to do the initial set-up of a day care at the church and school. She served as its director until 1997 at which time she went to work for Southwest Human Development Services as Program Director for Region 4.

After moving to Ozark, MO in September 2000, she was employed by the Southwest Missouri Office on Aging where she worked as administrator at the Ozark Senior Center.

Over the years she was active in her Sunday School and church and was a member of First Baptist Church of Ozark. She was also a girl scout leader, volunteer with Meals on Wheels, nursing home ministry, and the Utopia Club. Of all her activities and positions she was most blessed to be Ed’s wife, Kaye’s mom, April and Katie’s “Mimmie”, and “Mimmie Judy” to April’s five children.

Judy’s greatest ministry outside of her home was the opportunities she found to

share her love for Jesus with anyone she could whether through letters, phone calls, or personal visits. She always lived as if ‘the opportunities are there if we will be open to them’.

Judy is survived by her husband, Ed at the family home with her daughter Debra Kaye Ransom and husband Joseph, two granddaughters, April Ragsdale and husband Michael, Southaven, Mississippi, Katherine (Katie) Blackburn, Olive Branch, Mississippi, and five great-grandchildren.

What a beautiful legacy and a wonderful Jesus loving lady. We won’t ever forget the kindness and love she showed our family. She treated us like family immediately upon meeting us. She will be missed greatly. We love you all!

What a beautiful tribute to my precious and beautiful Judy, my much loved and adored cousin.Since neither of us had a sister, a bond grew over the years with her like no other person in my life. Despite being born a generation apart, that meant nothing to Judy. She always treated me like I was a peer. A lady through and through, she provided me with a life long example of a faith- filled woman: full of wisdom, grace, humility and compassion. She was the perfect role model, confidant and true
example of the Proverbs 31 woman. I will miss her terribly, for she is indeed irreplaceable. However, I am comforted in the fact that I know Judy is in the presence of Our Lord and Savior and is waiting for all she knew to come, rejoice and join her.

Judy has left a wonderful legacy behind in Kaye, April & Katie. I’m so privileged to have considered her among one of my friends. I will miss her warm hospitality and the way she loved me and my family over the years. Without a doubt she is now worshipping at the feet of Jesus and has been fully restored. She will be truly missed here on earth. I look forward to seeing her again. My heart is with you, Ed, Kaye, Joseph, April & Katie.
