Judson Noble McDougall

Judson Nobel McDougall passed away on Monday evening, January 16, 2023.  Jud is survived by his wife, Lorraine P. McDougall of 70 years.  Three children, Pamela Danneman, David McDougall, and Beth Malm.  Five Grandchildren, Alexander McDougall, Lauren (Malm) Tonnies, Kevin Danneman, Kelsey (McDougall) Martin, and Melisa (Malm) Rainbolt.  Six Great Grandchildren, Seth Coffel, Kamryn Martin, Natalie Tonnies, Piper Rainbolt, Hazel Rainbolt, and Bennett Martin.

Jud was born on August 27, 1932, East of LeMars Iowa.  It was there where he met Lorraine Utesch in High School and they became the Senior King and Queen of the Homecoming Festivities.  The couple was married on August 29, 1952.

Jud started his career as a manager of Lambert Lumber Yard for several years prior to working for W. R. Grace, Construction Products where he worked for 36 years before retirement.  Jud enjoyed Golf, Playing Cards, watching his Beloved Nebraska Cornhusker Football, Model Railroading, Traveling in their RV with the Winnebago Club, and spending time with family.

His pastime was his research of the McDougall family genealogy dating back to the 1100’s.  Jud’s most memorable trip was the 6 weeks that he and Lorraine traveled to Scotland to visit the McDougall Castles in Oban, Scotland.

Jud and Lorraine have been active members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church starting in 1971.  They served in the Choir, were Youth, Sponsors Sunday School Teacher, the Bethel Bible Series instructor and representative for the St Louis area, an advisor to Pastor, and Church Council President.

Jud had an infectious sense of humor, always had a story to share, and always could make everyone laugh.

His greatest love was his family.  His only regret was not being able to hold his newest great grandson.

We are truly blessed for the love and support you have shown to our family.  We would like to thank you for traveling and taking time out of your day to come and join in the celebration of Jud.

We love you and know that you will check in on us from time to time.

Dear Lorraine and McDougal family, Heartfelt condolences on the loss of a great man. What a joy it was to have Lorraine as a good friend and choir partner years ago at Holy Trinity. Wonderful friendships with both you and Jud developed as you both became leaders at HT. We loved seeing your children grow up. I have many fond memories of good times spent together celebrating holidays and at choir parties. Jud was always smiling and had a good story. Lorraine, I’ll always be thankful for your assistance in caring for Chris when I needed a helping hand. You were a favorite loving caregiver for him and he always had a great time at your place. Love and peace, Kathy Cormack

    Lorraine,
As you know, Jud was a professional, supportive & loyal mentor to many of us in the construction industry over the years. I thank him for that. May God guide him where he wants him to be. 🙏
