Julia “Julie” Anne Burr

Julia “Julie” Anne Burr of Saint Louis MO, passed away surrounded by loved ones at the age of 64 on 03/09/2022.

Born on 03/21/1957 in Saint Louis MO, daughter to the late Richard Henry Burr and Marian Ladine Burr, Julie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard “Rick” James Burr.

Julie was an avid Girl Scout through her childhood and the neighborhood’s favorite baby sitter from age 10 all the way into her 20’s.

Throughout her life she enjoyed camping, stargazing— she always would let you know about the upcoming meteor showers or eclipses— and the outdoors. Julie enjoyed traveling to the Lake of the Ozarks, the country, and world when she could. She explored many different states across the country and she even traveled abroad to Hong Kong, Thailand, Canada, Singapore, Bahamas, and Australia. Julie also loved the arts and theater, becoming a season ticket holder at the Fox.

Julie graduated from Lindbergh High School in 1975. Julie graduated from St. Louis Community College (Meramec) with an associate degree in applied sciences in 1994. Going on to become a very proud COTA/L, working for Barnes Jewish Hospital followed by Sundance Rehab at Delmar Gardens on the Green.

Later in life, she retired to become the primary caregiver for her grandmother, and both of her parents. Julie was also an active member of her community as a St. Lucas UCC: church council member, youth group mentor, choir member, and Sunday School Teacher. Julie generously created beautiful gift baskets to donate to a plethora of charities.

Julie is survived by her only son, Joshua “Josh” Burr (Laura); her sister, Amy Richards(Curt); her sister-in-law, Frances Burr; her nephews, Curtis “CJ” Richards (Lawson), Kyle Richards (Dani), and Grayson Burr; her aunt, Barbara Burr; her cousins, and her two beloved cats, Hamlet and Peaches.

Julie’s life was a testament to the ability of humans to love one another. She loved each person she met and wished for everyone to come together in peace under God in his love. A quote from one of Julie’s favorite people that best describes her: “So many people come into our lives and then leave the way they came. But there are those precious few who touch our hearts so deeply we will never be the same” – Mary Engelbreit.
