Jay started his career as a trim carpenter then moved onto building and remodeling houses. He was talented and creative in many ways, a jack of all trades. Jay was always up for a challenge! One of the most hard-working men you will ever meet.
He once met a woman while having lunch who told him that he was very gregarious.
“Never met a stranger”.
Jay LOVED life!
He loved spending time with family and friends. He was always there to lend a helping hand. His pride and joy were his house and yard. He always wanted the best for Melanie!
Although Jay never served. He was a big supporter of the American Flag, our troops and law enforcement. His interest was anything with history and the military.
Jay enjoyed multiple trips to Germany to visit with family. One of his most cherished trips was for Cassandra and Jorge’s wedding!
For those who knew Jay, lost a shining light in their lives. It is hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember! He will always be loved, never forgotten and forever missed!
There will be a private service at Bellerive Gardens Cemetery. 740 N. Mason Rd.

Mel I am so sorry for your loss of Jay, he will be missed by all us. I am very grateful that he let me be a friend & that we shared a lot of talks about the military. God bless both of you.

One regret both Pat and I have, is we did not get to know Jay closer.
We are always here for you and your family for the tiniest of things…
Whether it be a hug, a cocktail together, a memory to share and new ones to make!

Much Love,
Sally & Pat
I just learned of this Last night from Wayne McAfee. I’m in shock. For a very long time Jay and I spent lots of time together. Work and play , Hockey games and Shenanigans. Although we had not spoken in years, I thought of Jay and Mel often. Laughed with him and his Dad often.
Good people in my book. He is and will always be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to Jay’s entire family, especially his Wife and Mother.. My heart is deeply saddened.
