June Dorothy Silver (Happ) passed away peacefully at home on May 18th at the age of 88 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, 84, in 2018. June is survived by her daughter, Patricia Scott (Silver) and son, Edward Silver as well as their spouses, Wallace Scott and Oneda Silver. She also leaves behind her grandchildren;  Catherine Bright (Scott), Sarah Frenzel (Scott) and Nicholas Silver as well as many great grandchildren: Keira(14), Teagan(10) and Liam Bright(8) and Olivia Myers(12), Gavin(3) and Nolan(5 weeks) Frenzel.

June began her life in Norristown, PA and later moved to New Jersey where she met Ed. They married in 1954 and she had many interesting jobs throughout the years but none made her as happy as being a mother to Patty and Eddie. They moved to Aurora, Colorado in 1964. “Looking back now, I am happy we experienced those years there. It was a beautiful area and we made the most of it by traveling all over the West and Southwest. We made friends there that remained friends for decades.”

In 1969, they moved to University City, MO, and she decided to go to Harris State Teachers School where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and received her Teaching certificate. She worked as a reading specialist and thoroughly enjoyed it and was beloved by many children. She taught for 19 years before deciding to retire declaring it “a great pay off for a job well done.” She dabbled in real estate as well where she found her dream home in Wildwood where she and Ed lived out the end of their retirement days lounging by the pool and enjoying their grandkids and great grandkids.

June always enjoyed games but found a passion for Mahjong in recent years. She could often be found in a library or restaurant she and her friends had taken over, playing for hours. June was the sweetest, kindest woman who ever lived and will be missed greatly by all who were blessed to have known her. I hope she is resting easy now at the giant Mahjong table in the sky!
