June Hatfield

June Hatfield, age 83, of Chesterfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026.

June grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois, where she lived with her parents, James and Josephine Good, her maternal grandmother (“Granny”), and her brother, Fred. As a young girl, she enjoyed working as a lifeguard and bonding with her father and brother over Chicago sports—remaining a lifelong, avid Cubs and Bears fan. She graduated from Prospect High School and went on to attend the University of Illinois.

While working in Chicago, June met her beloved husband, Larry. They married and welcomed their first daughter, Jodi, in Chicago before relocating to Southern Florida, where their second daughter, Julie, was born. In 1972, the family moved to Greensboro, North Carolina, where they lived for five years. While there, June co-founded a decorating business with two close friends called The Side Door.

In 1977, the family moved to Chesterfield, Missouri—the place June would call home for nearly 50 years. In the 1980s, June launched a career in real estate, a profession she truly loved. Known affectionately as “The Real Estate Maven,” she specialized in new residential developments, guiding buyers through their home selections while working with premier brokerages including Gundaker Realtors, Coldwell Banker, and Berkshire Hathaway.

June loved traveling with Larry to Florida and Las Vegas. Their absolute favorite vacations were cruises, where June could test her luck in the casino while Larry sunned himself on the deck. At home, her favorite pastimes included playing games with friends—especially Bridge, Rummikub, and Dominoes—and playing Video Poker at the local casino.

With her quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and warm outgoing nature, June never met a stranger and built lasting friendships everywhere she went, from local shops to her favorite restaurants. Above all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed.

June was preceded in death by her parents, James and Josephine Good; her brother, Fred Good; and her husband, Larry Hatfield.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie Cassity (Brent) and Jodi Wimmer (Grant); her grandchildren, Derek Wimmer, Elle Winter, Allie Winter (Zack), Courtney Suntrup (Christian), Carly Budd (Sam), and Connor Latino (Logan); her great-grandchildren, Cade, Carson, CJ Suntrup, Olivia, Jackson Budd, and Elle Winter; and her nephews, John and Jim Good.
