Karla Lynn Gibson, age 62, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Born on January 21, 1964, in St. Louis, Missouri, Karla was the beloved daughter of Mary Fauntleroy and Henderson Fauntleroy. She was baptized at an early age and remained a faithful, lifelong member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where her faith was nurtured and became the foundation upon which she built her life.
Karla was a proud graduate of Rosati-Kain High School. She continued her education at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), where she studied Speech Therapy. Following her studies, Karla relocated to Kansas City, Missouri. She eventually returned to St. Louis and she began a dedicated career with UPS, where she faithfully served for 25 years. Throughout her career, she earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues through her unwavering work ethic, commitment, and professionalism.
Above all else, Karla cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, aunt, cousin, and loyal friend. Her greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved and supporting them through every season of life. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel valued, encouraged, and cared for, and her nurturing spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Karla found joy in life’s simple blessings and meaningful connections. She loved sports, skating, and music, each reflecting her vibrant personality and appreciation for time spent with family and friends. She also had a special passion for plants and gardening, lovingly cultivating beauty wherever she could. Her patience, creativity, and caring nature were evident not only in her gardens but in the way she cared for those around her.
A woman of deep faith and quiet strength, Karla lived her life with grace, resilience, and compassion. Her kindness, laughter, and unconditional love touched countless lives and created memories that will be treasured forever.
Karla leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted husband, Gerald Gibson; her beloved daughters, Kaicee Brooks and Rachele Banks; her cherished sons, Brandon Gibson and Jalyen Gibson; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Margaret Wilson, David and Twyla Fauntleroy, Kevin and Laquita Fauntleroy, Norvell Gibson Jr., Renae Gibson, and Keith Gibson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and her beloved Antioch Missionary Baptist Church family. Karla was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Gibson, and her beloved nephew, Brandon McDowell – Fauntleroy, whose memories she held close to her heart.
Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith, courage, love, and resilience will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched. Those who knew Karla will forever remember her warm smile, generous heart, and the unwavering love she shared so freely.
Karla’s memory will be cherished forever, and she will remain deeply loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
