Keith, I was very sorry to hear Kate‘s passing and very sorry for your loss. Kate was one of the first neighbors I met when our house was being built.
My brother Kevin and I were out to look at the construction and we were wondering what the final plan would look like. Kate came over to say hello to the new neighbors. We talked with her about the plans and she gave us a tour of your house because the floor plans were similar and it would give me a better idea of how the final product. This was just the beginning of being a good neighbor and a great welcome to our new home.
Kate was very smart and clever with a sharp wit. She enjoyed a good laugh. She had many enjoyable conversations whenever the crew got together. She shared her ideas about plants and gardening. She excelled at the trivia nights and enjoyed the company and competition. I know she will be missed.
A couple of years ago I happened to stop by our old neighborhood. I spoke with you for a while and you told me that you were taking Kate to a doctor’s appointment. You insisted that I wait a bit longer to say high to Kate. I didn’t know that would be the last time I saw her. It was good to see her again It has only possible because you were thoughtful and you insisted.
You did a good job of taking care of her as her health was failing. I am certain that Kate appreciated your thoughtfulness, kindness and good company as you did your best to make sure she had the medical care she needed and all the comforts of home.
I look back on all the years at our house in Summer Chase and remember the good times and great neighbors. You and Kate were always a part of our lives. I am sorry that she has gone. It is truly a loss for everyone who knew her and her family.
May our memories of Kate keep her in our hearts!
Tom
