Kathleen A. Hixson
Kathleen A. Hixson passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 18, 2024. She died at home, surrounded by her family and her best friend.
Born on January 17, 1947, in St. Louis, MO, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband Michael Hixson; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Delia Hixson; parents, Frank and Loretta Breier; sisters, Claire Shumate (nee Breier) and Patricia Rodriguez (nee Breier); brothers-in-law, Gene Shumate, Fred Rodriguez, Mac McElroy and sister-in-law, Margie Hixson.
She is survived by her children; Tim Hixson, Matt (Debbie) Hixson, Dennis (Sarah) Hixson, and Katie (Tony) Roelke. Also, her loving brother Michael (Tormey) Breier, sister Margaret Hixson (nee Breier). brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dick (Sue) Hixson, Dennis (Marie) Hixson, Pat Hixson, Kathleen McElroy, Mary Ellen (John) Goodman, and Maggie (George) Fowler. A loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Loving Grandma to Michael (Brittany) Haas, Kourtney (Damir) Dzafic, Conner, Laura, Makena,and Hana; loving great-grandma to Ajdin, Addie, Kennedy, Laeken and soon-to-be Amin. Best Friend to Diane Session.
Kathleen (Kathy to all her knew her) was a loving person. She loved being with her kids, grandkids, extended family and her best friend. She had a knack for style and decorating her home. She was protective of her family and always wanted to know that they were okay. Kathy loved to have fun wherever she went. She loved fall and everything that came with it. Sitting on her back porch, watching the birds was one of her favorite things to do. Kathy was proud of her kids and grandkids and all their accomplishments. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Services will be held at St. Louis Cremation on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 10:00am-1:00pm, 2135 Chouteau Ave, St. Louis, MO 63103. A service at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery will follow at 1:45pm.
We ask that you dress casual per her last requests. She wanted everyone to be comfortable.
An off-site luncheon will be announced and will follow from 2:00pm-6:00pm.
