Kathleen “Kathy” McCarthy, 75, passed away of natural causes at her home in Arnold, Missouri, on January 12, 2026.

Born on December 11, 1950, to the late Donald B. and Marion F. Mueller, Kathy was a proud graduate of Southwest High School. She dedicated many years of hard work to her career and eventually retired from I.A.T.S.E. St. Louis Local 6, where she leaves behind many colleagues and friends.

Kathy’s life was defined by her devotion to her family and her enduring friendships. She is survived by her two sons and their families: Erik (Sarah) Gambaro and children Maria, Salvatore, and Josephine “Jo-Jo” of Arnold, MO; and Frank Gambaro and children Isabella “Bella” and Gianna of O’Fallon, MO.

She is also survived by her brother, David (Carol) Mueller of Savannah, GA, and their children Becky McGarvey, Jeff Mueller, and Lisa O’Donnell; her half-brother, Paul (Jenifer) Mueller, and their son Ben (Liz); and her lifelong friend, Jon Miller.

Kathy was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
