Kathryn Yvonne “Kay” Lopez
Kathryn Yvonne “Kay” Lopez passed away peacefully on March 29th, 2026, surrounded by family.
Kay was born on December 5th, 1964, in St. Louis Missouri. Kay’s life was a testament to strength, love and perseverance. She loved her family dearly and held faith close to her heart. She shared a special and unique bond with each of her daughters. She was a very creative and talented artist. Her most enjoyed job was printing comic books with World Color Press. She was a huge animal lover and devoted much of her life to taking in animals in need and caring for many doted-on pets. She was truly one of a kind.
Kay was a lover of fashion and makeup. She would describe herself as “eccentric” and embraced being different. She liked to refer to herself as “Glam-ma” rather than grandma. In her free time, she loved watching tv, hanging out with her cats, listening to all kinds of music and was a true lover of horror books and movies. Her favorite ways to spend time with family were going for walks, bike rides, having scary movie nights or just sharing long talks. She was never short on stories to share and was incapable of having a boring conversation. She loved the outdoors and was most at peace sitting outside and listening to nature, or watching a thunderstorm roll in.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Karl and has many pets and rescued animals waiting to greet her.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jessica, Samantha (Jason), Breana (Jarrod), and Maryah; her grandchildren Ava, Dalilah, Trent, Ella, and Olivia; her sisters Karol and Laura; along with extended family and dear friends.
Kay is dearly missed and will be remembered through the memories and laughter she shared with everyone she knew. We “love you most” forever.
