Kenneth R. Higgins, Jr.

Kenneth Raymond Higgins Jr., also known as Ken, passed away on August 27, 2023, at the age of 73 in Saint Peters, MO. Ken was born on March 7, 1950, in St. Louis, MO. He was a dedicated and loving husband to his wife, Bonnie P. Higgins, for 51 years. Ken was a devoted father to his two children, Jennifer L. Higgins and Kenneth R. Higgins III. He was also a cherished grandfather to Leonardo N. Higgins and Josephine V. Higgins.

Ken led a life of service and compassion. He was a devout Lutheran and servant leader, always ready to help those in need. Ken found joy in pursuing his hobbies, which included muscle cars, motorcycles, bicycling, building anything, and enjoying nature. He had a wealth of knowledge and enjoyed sharing it with others, especially his grandchildren, Leonardo and Josephine.

Ken’s educational journey began at Jefferson Elementary and continued at Normandy High School. He furthered his education at UMSL.

In addition to his family and hobbies, Ken served in the Army Reserve from 1969 to 1975. His dedication to his country was evident in his military service.

Professionally, Ken worked as a sheet metal worker in the Local 36 Union. During most of this time, Ken was a Superintendent for C&R and HydroTemp, where he made significant contributions.

Ken found solace and strength in his faith and worshipped at Trinity Lutheran Church in Orchard Farm, MO.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 11th, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church. The service, lasting approximately 45 minutes, is open to all family and friends who wish to pay their respects.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in memory of Ken.

Ken’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of his beloved wife, Bonnie P. Higgins, his children, Jennifer L. Higgins and Kenneth R. Higgins III, his daughter in-law, Maria R. Higgins, his grandchildren, Leonardo N. Higgins and Josephine V. Higgins, as well as his extended family and friends.

Please join us in honoring the life of Ken Higgins and celebrating the impact he had on all those who knew him.

Heaven has surely gained a kind and funny man – Bob worked with him many years and has so many memories of those days. Prayers to the family – He might be riding his motorcycle and smiling all the way — Bob and Sandy Pratte

Ken as were driving to your services we passed a 57 Ford like your Dad drove and so many memories came to mind. Ken you were always a car guy, and we shared that love, you had that beautiful black Corvette and our Victory red one. I already miss your Facebook comments because it seemed like you were always the first to them. RIP
