Larry Greer

Larry Joe Greer, 82, of St. Peters, MO passed away on November 12, 2015 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO with his children by his side. Larry was born in Wellington, KS on May 2, 1933. He married Anna Coleen (Baker) on July 22, 1960 in Phoenix, AZ. Larry is preceded in death by his wife Coleen, his parents Albert Leroy and Eula (Williams) Greer; as well as, his sister Aberdine Kelseaux. He is survived by his children Shannon (Scott) Allen) Greer, Mark (Eileen) Greer and Tanya (Jeff) Pfankuch; grandchildren Michelle, Dylan, Jack, Jessica, and Lisa; and a brother Roy Greer.
Larry retired as V.P. of Engineering for Allied Gear. He was a life member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the NRA. He enjoyed inventing things and was an avid reader of military history. His passion was a research historian for the barbed wire hobby since 1970, published over 550 articles for various magazines and newsletters, wrote four books and contributed to nine others. Family and friends regarded him as a generous, kind and loving man, with smiles and nice things to say towards everyone.
A private celebration of his life will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

    Sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. Larry was a wonderful person and a steward of the barbed wire hobby. He will be missed.
