Larry A. Schieferdecker

Larry Allan Schieferdecker , 71, of Ursa, passed away Friday, December 16th 2016, at Barnes Hospital in St Louis Mo.

Larry was born November 18, 1945 in Quincy to Kenneth L. and Emma Schieferdecker. He married Marcia Rabe on September 1st, 1968. Marcia, of Ursa, survives.

Larry was a 1963 graduate of Quincy Senior High School. He started out his professional career as a meat cutter/merchandiser for the Kroger Co. Larry then switched trades and had been in the building business for the last 35 years, most recently as a distributor of insulated concrete forms. He was a former member of the Quincy Jaycees and Quinsippi Yacht Club. Larry enjoyed fishing in the pond he created. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Larry will lovingly be remembered by his wife Marcia in addition to his children Scott (Beverly) Schieferdecker of O’Fallon Mo, Ryan (Beth) Schieferdecker of Sun Prairie Wi and Erica (Brad) Huntley of Loraine Il.

Larry was the proud grandfather to Anna, Emily, Sara, Lily and Cora Schieferdecker : Jayce and Kade Huntley.

Larry is survived by his brothers Gary (Jackie), Terry (Diann) and Jerry (Doris) Schieferdecker. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services: A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, December 28th, in the Mendon Congregational Church with the Rev. Bruce Willard and Pastor Alvin Kent Lewis conducting.

    Marcia and Family, Gary, Terry, Joe and Families,
    I am so sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. Elmer passed away on December 28, 1972. I’m sure they are up there swapping stories with Ron. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you.
