Larry Shipley

Larry Ross Shipley was born May 9, 1957 in Des Moines, Iowa, son of Jewell and Lois (Weber) Shipley. He departed this life on Tuesday April 24, 2012.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell and Lois Shipley, brother, Richard Shipley, sisters Patricia Ann Shipley and Judith Colliver, and sister-in-law, Joann Shipley. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Elvira Schenk-Shipley, sisters, Dr. Marilyn Schultz of Cleveland, Mississippi, Shirley (James) Stringer of Hillsboro, Missouri, Linda Skinner of Hazelwood, Missouri, Barbara Tresvina of Wilcox, Arizona, brothers, Ronald Shipley of Florissant, Missouri and Jackie Shipley of Haymarket, Virginia, brothers-in-law Roger Roberts of Hazelwood, Missouri and Robert and Otto Schenk of Germany, and sister-in-law Giesler Wilson of Union, Missouri.

Larry was a welder for Canam Steel in Washington, Missouri. He moved to Hermann, Missouri upon retirement. Larry will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to:

to help with burial expenses.

    I am really sorry about Larry. I had so many laughs with Larry over the years. He was a good one and we lifted many glasses together.

    I am sorry to hear about Larry. I have a lot of good memories of him. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family.

    I was a very close friend to Larry for a lot of years growing up but lost touch with him as sometimes happens. I was very sad to hear the news, what a great person he was! Everyone that knew Larry loved him and he will be missed.
