Lawrence Donald Wilson

August 8th, 1970 – January 18th, 2024

Lawrence Donald Wilson of St. Louis, Missouri was born on the 8th day of August in 1970. As the third child of his loving mother, Gerturude Wilson (deceased), and father Lawrence Donald Brodie, Donald was the baby of his family. He is survived by his two older siblings Damon Givonni Wilson and Roulanda Wilson.

Everyone knew Donald as a career culinary professional. His creative nature made him exceptional in the kitchen, while his generosity made him a beloved chef in the neighborhood. Donald loved what he did, and he was always happy to bring friends and family together over a delicious meal.

Donald held his family close to his heart and instilled these values into his 5 children: David, Lauren, Dominic, Giovanni, and Lana who he lovingly raised during his union with Jana Loftis.  He adored his sweet grandchild, Cruze, and great nieces Delilah and Echinacea who lovingly called him “Uncle-Grandpa.” He also leaves behind his Uncle Wendell Buchanan, Uncle Rodney Johnson, his Nephew Ryan Wilson, his “Sis” Robin and his only surviving Great Aunt, Darlene Gillespie.

Whether it was maintaining a sweet ride, fishing with his sons, traveling the world, or catching a good sports game on TV, Donald enjoyed the simple things in life. “Nothing beats a failure, but a try,” he would constantly remind us. Donald maintained a humble spirit that nudged us to be better than we were yesterday.

Donald was a socialite whose great smile, contagious laugh, and sensible humor was sure to brighten the day of those around him. His friendly and easy going spirit made him many friends throughout his life, all of whom will agree that a good time was going to be had when “Low” was around.

Our beloved Donald passed away Thursday, January 18th, 2024. We will miss our exceptional father, grandpa, brother, uncle, son, and friend dearly, and will carry him in our hearts as we live in his honor.
