Lawrence Elliot Schroeder
Lawrence Elliot Schroeder, lovingly known as Larry, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at Mercy South, at the age of 44. He was born on May 20, 1981, in Belleville, Illinois.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his father, Robert Schroeder; his uncle, Ronnie Schroeder; and his grandparents, Samuel and Frances Koller.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Mary Schroeder (Kaestner), and his beloved children, Trenton and Scarlett Schroeder, who were the center of his world. He is also lovingly remembered by his mother, Sherry Schroeder; his brothers, Lance Schroeder and Stanley Schroeder (Lindsey); his father- and mother-in-law, Ray and Robin Kaestner; his sisters-in-law, Emily Kaestner and Becky Riggs (Matt); and his cherished nieces and nephews, Mayson, Jocelyn, Christopher, and Blake. Lawrence is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Larry dedicated more than 20 years of his career to Praxair/Linde, where he worked his way up from night loader to Assistant Plant Manager, a testament to his strong work ethic and determination.
He loved spending time fishing in tournaments with his son and friends, attending St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues games with his family, and watching football—especially cheering on the Buffalo Bills. Larry was known for barbecuing year-round, even if it “took forever,” and for filling his home with music, dancing, laughter, and joy. He was truly the life of the party and never failed to make those around him laugh. No bowling trip was complete without Larry and his oversized bowling bag rolling along beside him.
Above all, Larry was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a loyal friend. His love, humor, and unforgettable presence will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
