Lee Edward Love

Lee Edward Love (Sonny Boy) was born December 18, 1934 to the union of Alene Nelson and Jesse Love in West Helena, Arkansas.

Lee Love moved to St Louis, Missouri as a young child and attended Charles H Sumner High School, where he graduated in 1953. He attended Southern Illinois University-
Carbondale in 1953 until 1954. He then Joined the Marine Corp where he served at Camp Pendelton in San Diego. He served for 4 years and attained the rank of sergeant. He returned to SIUC in 1959 in which he met and married Gwendolyn Neely. From this union came 3 beautiful children Aaron, Ashley (Stefan) and Allison.

Lee Love worked for Monsanto until he suffered chemical burns in November of 1964. He held several positions with the State of Missouri and the City of St Louis. He also co-owned a marketing development company in the 1970s. He retired in 1996 after working in retail for several years.

Lee was an avid baseball and tennis player. He leaves to cherish 3 children, 8 grandchildren, Kellen, Christian, Stefanie, Cody, Amori, Amani, Macaiah and Auriel. He also leaves to cherish 4 great-grandchildren, Anaya, Christian Jr, Kadence and Kael.
