I was privileged to know Dr. Jarvis While I was a student at SUNY Old Westbury in the early 1980’s. I will always remember him as a man who would give his time freely to all who wished to learn. I feel the world has lost a great soul. My condolences to his family.

During my time at Suny College at Old Westbury, I had the privilege of being a student of his. With the remarkable ability to transform a mundane Statistics course into something captivating, he became my favorite teacher throughout my college years. Despite my efforts to locate him online after graduation, I was unsuccessful until stumbling upon his obituary. I deeply miss the warmth of his smile and the joy in his laughter. He will forever hold a place in my memory as one of the kindest and brightest individuals I’ve had the privilege of knowing.
