Loretta Cartwright
Loretta Jane Risner Cartwright (Deba) passed away at her home on Monday, February 19,
2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 4, 1942, in Mountain View,
Arkansas, to the late Ivan and Fannie Risner.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Giacopelli, and their combined eight children: Melanie
(Rob) Maesaka, Laura (John Stuhlman) Brotherton, Kathi Cartwright, Zach (Cathy) Cartwright
Jr., Joseph (Teresa) Giacopelli Jr., Peter (Stefani) Giacopelli, and Janice Reedy; grandchildren,
Alyssa (Andrew) Scoville, Stephanie (Ben Faerber) Surgener, Victoria, Zachary, and Owen
Brotherton, Adam and Eric (Leia) Cartwright, Samantha (David) Lee and Jacob Giacopelli,
Kendall and Lucas Reedy, Dominic and Vincent Giacopelli, plus six great, grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Zachary Cartwright, father of Kathi and Zach Jr.,
and Marvin Buerkle, father of Melanie and Laura.
She is survived by her sister, Judy Franks; brother, Ronnie (Charlene) Risner; nieces, Julie
(Gary) Nelson, Ronda (Noel) Boucher, Carrie (Rowdy) Ross; and nephew, Alex (Jan) Franks.
She also has eight great-nieces and nephews, plus fifteen great-great-nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at visitation at 10:00 a.m. and
service at 10:30 a.m., at The Rock Church, 9125 Manchester Road, Brentwood, Missouri
63144.
Additional services will take place on Saturday, April 13, 2024, with visitation beginning at 10:00
a.m. and service at 10:30 a.m., in her hometown at First Baptist Church, 224 King Avenue,
Mountain View, Arkansas 72560. Burial will take place immediately following the service at
Flatwoods Cemetery.

Melanie, Laura and Kathy, Of you kids, I knew you the best. I carpooled daily from Pine with your mom to Pattonville Heights for the years I worked there…my first years there. We talked a lot about everything, with her children always the highest priority personally, (and our professional experiences too)…you were still in school. What a very dear person, professional, friend, and mom. She had a profound way of being gentle while strong. She lived fully, attentively, faithfully, and always deeply meaningfully. I am extremely sorry that I cannot be there with you for her at the service on Saturday. She will be so missed by all, and of course, mostly by her family. My deepest, deepest sympathy.
