Madeline W. Kotowski

Madeline Whitney Kotowski (“Maddy” or “Matts”), born on December 10, 1942 in Baltimore, MD went home to be with the Lord on December 5, 2025, at the age of 82. Maddy brightened the lives of everyone she met. She loved deeply, lived joyfully, and greeted all with bright smiles and warm hugs.

Born with a generous spirit and a gift for making others feel seen, Maddy spent many years supporting the education department at Goucher College in Towson, Maryland. After retiring, she embraced new chapters in Florida and later St. Louis, where she continued to surround herself with friends, family, and faith. She loved animals, children, sweets, her family and friends, and above all, the Lord.

Maddy is survived by her son, Frank Sica, and her daughter, Lisa Wohlers (Troy); her sister, Dawn Zgorski (Mike), and her brother, Earl Whitney (Peggy). She is also survived by three grandchildren–Jennifer Shaulis, Justin Sica, and Jessica Sica (Brett); six great-grandchildren–Madelyn, Camden, Oren, Rowan, Deacon and Ellie; and three nephews–Barry Williams (Karen), Lance Zanti (Tina) and Matthew Whitney (Anna) along with several grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Kotowski; sister, Earline Williams; and niece, Allison Zgorski.

A memorial service will be held at the Haebler Memorial Chapel at Goucher College, 1021 Dulaney Valley Rd, Towson, MD 21204 at 11:00 a m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026 with a casual reception to follow at a family member’s home in Owings Mills (address provided at the service).

    Madeline was a wonderful person she cared for all she met , she was so sweet and joyful . She always had a big smile and hug to greet you . She was an angel on earth and will be greatly missed.Bless you Lisa for giving her such love and care you two were blessed to have each other . I send my deepest sympathies to all her family and friends.

    I will remember my sweetest, kindest, lovable sister-in-law who brought joy, laughter, love and friendship to my life almost 50 years ago. So many memories to treasure🌹 ❤️
