Marcus Ghana Washington

In the early morning hours of April 16, 2022, Marcus “Mark” Washington of Webster Groves, MO, passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was a loving father to Joshua (Jen) Cook and Reese Washington, beloved Pa-Pa to two grandkids, Sakura and Zander Cook, brother to his four siblings Marcherie Washington of Webster Groves, Kim Washington of Webster Groves, Glenn (Cheryl) Washington of Oswego, IL and Delisa (Chris) Richardson of O’Fallon, IL uncle to his niece Pantha (Joseph) Martinez of Kingsport, TN and three nephews Adrian Wallace of Swansea, IL, Jordan Wallace of Affton, MO, and Devin Richardson of O’Fallon, IL. 

Marcus was an avid Saint Louis Blues and Saint Louis Cardinals fan and spent many hours at Busch Stadium in the bleacher seats.  He had a talent for drawing and writing, which he shared a love of with his granddaughter (along with his famous chicken wings and tuna salad). He watched, read, drew, and loved to talk about anything comic book, superhero, or movie related. Video games was a bond he shared with his son and grandson, and they regularly played for long hours into the night. He always gave his time and attention to loved ones, no matter what, and was always willing to lend his ear, wry smile, and infectious laughter to make others feel better. He will be sorely missed. 

Marcus was preceded in death by his mother, Marzetta Washington, his father James Larry Washington, his sister Deborah Washington, his brother Quintin Washington, his uncle John N. Nall, and his grandmother Mary Ellen Clayborn.

Service will be a celebration of life to be held on Wednesday, April 27th, 2022, from 6 to 8 PM at Saint Louis Cremation located at 320 Jungermann Rd St. Peters, MO 63376.

In lieu of flowers please consider wearing your favorite Blues or Cardinals attire in honor of him the day of the service.
