Margaret Ann “Margie” Hayward (Rowe)
Margaret Ann “Margie” Hayward, 86, Chesterfield, Missouri, formerly of Kansas City, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family, Saturday, April 6th, 2019.
Born Margaret Ann Rowe to Ruth and George Rowe, in 1932, she grew up in Independence Missouri and graduated from William Chrisman High School. As a young adult she worked with her father in his medical practice. She married the love of her life, Richard Joseph Hayward in 1953 who preceded her in death in 2012.
Margie is survived by her son Richard S Hayward and his wife Darlene, of Winthrop, Maine; daughter Debra Pourney and her husband Tom Osmun, of Wildwood, Missouri; Daughter Cynthia Gann of Monett, Missouri; daughter Pamela Hayward-Kelly and her husband Tim, of Kansas City, Missouri and daughter Sharla Davies and her husband David, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Bobby Hayward, Aron Rauls, Brianna Rehrs, Mandy Ten-Eyck, Adam Pourney, Jericca Hayward, Ricky Hayward, Emily Davies, Ian Davies and Leah Davies, 12 great-grandchildren and her sister Pat Moore and brother Steve Rowe of Arizona.
Margie, selflessly, gave all her love to her husband and children and cherished her time with them. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and a volunteer nurse’s aide for her children’s elementary school. She was a member of Stephen Ministries, with her husband, where she used her love to help others. She was a lover of crafts, puzzles, and later, enjoyed keeping in touch with friends and family, that lived afar, through email and Facebook.
Margie adored all her children, grandchildren and felt special love for her great grandchildren. She loved to listen to their stories, learn of their milestones and proudly talked about them every moment she had. Her smile was huge, her laughter so sweet and infectious and her heart ever growing.
Margie’s ashes will be placed with her husband and a celebration of life will take place in the fall.
The family requests that you honor her memory with donations to the Salvation Army.
