She was known all over the world for her life’s work with Shetland Sheepdogs as a mentor, breeder, exhibitor and club officer. She has produced more than 40 champions specializing in tri- and bi-colors and blue merles under the Cameo Shelties kennel name. She made many lifelong friends through her love of the breed. She will be remembered for her strength and optimism throughout her life and for her ability to make her family and friends feel that they were so very important to her.

She was a 1956 graduate of Southwest High School, located in South St. Louis, and with her sister Carolyn, kept close to a small group of high school friends. Before her retirement she worked at Bommarito Automotive in Ellisville, MO and served as treasurer for Lake Forest, the subdivision she lived in since 1999.

A celebration of Marilyn’s life is being planned for family and close friends. The family requests no flowers and that memorial contributions be made to a charity of their choice.

Marilyn will be remembered not only for all she did in the sheltie community, but mostly for the wonderful person she was. Always there to speak and help whenever anyone needed. I will so miss speaking to her whenever I got the chance to see her at the Nationals. My sincere condolences to the family. She will be sorely missed.

My deepest sympathy to her family. I lived in the subdivision and became friends with her immediately after she moved in. We spent many mornings together with coffee and great conversation. She was always there for me with words of wisdom and advice. This is one woman I will never forget.

It is so hard for us to hear of Marilyn’s passing. She provided our family with one of the most beautiful tri-color male Shelties God ever created and we hope that Tiger was there to greet Marilyn in heaven. She will surely find heaven’s Sheltie play yard as one of the first things she does. God knows her unique talent and love for these little creatures. She will be missed.

Marilyn was so sweet to us when we adopted our Miste and Flash from her. We would go back to visit and take the dogs to visit their first Mom. My daughter Mira loved going to see Marilyn. One of Miste’s siblings was name Mira after her. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Marilyn’s family.

Marilyn will be missed. We currently have two of her dogs that we pruchased, and we always enjoyed visiting her when we were ready to purchase another. Mira was very fond of Marilyn and enjoyed playing with the puppies when we visited. She was a sheltie lover, and so are we. Condolences to her family, friends, and sheltie lovers all over the world.
