Marilynn Booher
Marilynn Booher of Chesterfield, MO passed away after a short illness on March
9, 2023, just shy of her 91 st birthday. Born March 27, 1932, in Boonville, IN,
Marilynn was a devoted homemaker who brightened every room she entered, be
it through her keen eye for fashion or her gift of hospitality. Marilynn cared
deeply for others, always ready to lend a hand to someone in need. She had many
interests including gardening, arranging flowers, painting and cooking.
Marilynn is predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Malcolm; the two married in
1954 and together raised two daughters, Cheryl and Kathryn. As the four
relocated frequently for his work, Marilynn’s ability to make anywhere feel like
home served to ground the family. Later in life, this skill would once again come in
handy as Marilynn became a bedrock of her community at Friendship village
 Chesterfield.
She is missed dearly by Cheryl and Lester Hill; Kathryn and Craig Smith; her
grandchildren, Michael Hill; Robert Kessler; Erin Kessler; Monte Smith and Lucas
 Simpson; Sarah and Nathan Smith.
There will be a celebration of Marilynn’s life at the chapel at Friendship Village
Chesterfield on Monday, April 10 at 2:30pm. Friends may greet the family after
the service. Marilynn will be interred with her beloved Malcolm at Jefferson
Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to
the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House at the Missouri Botanical Garden. Donations
in Marilynn’s honor may be sent to:
