Marjorie Keating
Marjorie Anne Keating passed on to eternity on March 11, 2020, while residing at Mark Twain Manor skilled nursing facility in Bridgeton MO.
Marjorie was born in Lebanon Illinois, to Ernest M & Wilhelmina (nee Gunther) Schueneman in 1924.
Marjorie was married to James Gorman Keating until his death in 1984 raising 5 children together, Suzanne (Michael) French-Flug of Chicago, Michael, Patrick (Debbie) Kevin and Timothy (Frances) Keating.
She was the proud grandmother of Michael French, Kevin French, Brian Keating, Matthew Keating, Christian Keating and Katherine Keating Schroer.
Her legacy lives on in her 6 grandchildren and her 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother Ernest & Mina Schueneman, brothers Allen C. & Jean J. Schueneman, sister Carol L. Patton, husband James G. Keating and son Kevin G. Keating.
In the early 1970s, she served as Treasurer to St. Louis Chapter of the Missouri Association for Children with Learning Disabilities and a member of the Citizens Alliance for School Evaluations, a self-appointed grassroots education watch-dog group. The group members personally financed several lawsuits against the Special School District over illegal collection of taxes and against Hazelwood, Parkway and other local school districts for denial of services to learning disabled children.
Later in life she obtained her Nurses’ Aide Certification and worked for St. Andrews and Cardinal Ritter Institute as a home healthcare aide to patients who were homebound and on hospice.
In 2008 Marge took up residence at St. Catherine’s Independent living facility in Florissant, MO, moving in 2012 to Westview at Ellisville and then finally in 2015 to Mark Twain Manor.
