Marjorie Sundfors

Marjorie G. Sundfors of Clayton, MO, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2024 at the age of 85 after a four-year battle with multiple myeloma.

She worked as Food Service Director for Hazelwood School District in the 1980s and 1990s and was a registered dietician.

She was born in 1939 in Oneonta, NY, to Herbert Gibson and Grace Gibson and graduated from what is now State University of New York at Oneonta, with a teaching degree. She taught elementary school for three years and then met her future husband, Ronald Sundfors, at Cornell University. They moved to St. Louis in 1964, and she lived here until her death.

Marjorie loved to sew and quilt and enjoyed renovating homes in New York with Ronald after she retired. She also played the piano at BJC Extended care through a ministry program of St. Michael and St. George Church.

She is survived by three daughters: Karen Sundfors (Greg Cancelada) of Creve Coeur, Margaret Scholl (Ray) of Dallas and Emily Hawkins (Chris) of Haines, Oregon, and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Sundfors.
