Mark Douglas Andrews
Surrounded by his loved ones, Mark Douglas Andrews passed away on the afternoon of September 2nd, 2021, at the young age of 66 years old. Born April 12th, 1955 to Raymond and Doris Andrews. Sibling to RJ, Pat, Anna, and Tom. Husband to Jane. Significant other to Kathy. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Raymond and Doris, wife, Jane, brothers, RJ and Tom, and sister, Anna. Survived by significant other Kathy, brother Pat, Son Ryan and his significant other Lynda, daughter Doris and her husband Danny, and grandchildren Mariah, Aries, RJ, Carley, Gabe, Avery, and Charlie.
Mark joined the Marines when he was a teen, and then entered the reserves. He met wife Jane, and they married September 21,1985. They had 2 children, Ryan and Doris. He was a proud dad and an amazing husband to Jane. Even through the struggles and medical issues they faced, the pair stayed together, side by side, and raised two amazing kids who will continue to carry on their traits and awesome personalities. After Jane lost her medical battle Mark became widowed. He was heart broken until he met Kathy. Kathy put a spark back into him that he had lost with Jane’s passing and we could all see the love they shared. He spent his last few years with Kathy enjoying the outdoors, camping, fishing, bbqing, and relaxing with his family. She could never be angry with him because he was just too charming. They made each other happy every day.
Mark was truly an amazing father, husband, friend, significant other, and Paw Paw. He was fun, loving and easy going. He used to say that he never needed all the money in the world because his friends and family are what made him wealthy. He was our biggest fan and our greatest role model. Mark was always in good spirits and could make you smile even on the hardest days. He loved to play tricks, tell jokes, and just make the kids and grandkids laugh. He found a way to smile through everything in life. He loved old westerns and cheesy comedies. He found humor in wrestling. He called it his cartoons. The doctors said he had a rare heart and that speaks so true to everyone who knew him. Mark cherished and treasured all his friends like they were his family and he had many. He will leave a big hole in all of our lives. He will be missed tremendously. Mark Andrews was “the best there’s ever been”, to everyone who was blessed to know him.
If anyone would like to make a donation in Mark’s memory, please do so to the Disabled American Veterans organization. Thank you.

He definitely was “the best there’s ever been” excellent Obit .
Mark was my neighbor for almost 19 years but more like family. I will miss his jokes for sure. Thank you Kathy for bringing love back in his life. Godspeed my dear friend.
Mark was a friend of mine on Facebook for several year’s, and I couldn’t have asked for a better friend. Tho we never met in person, it was like I knew him for year’s. Between bringing a smile to my face when I was down, to chatting about the Cardinals, being proud of coming from South city, his dismay with the Jack in the Box clown head (????) and our special style of BBQ ing there was never a dull conversation to be had. I’m going to miss you Mark, thanks for the laughs and great friendship. One day we’ll sit around, BBQ and continue our conversations. Till then we’ll hold down the fort down here. My deepest thoughts and prayers are with his family and friend’s, you guy’s had a true gem with him.❤
