Mark E. Yoder

Mark Edward Yoder, 60, passed away on Thursday October 17, 2019 at home in Cedar Hill, Missouri. Mark was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 11, 1959, the second child to the late Darwin and Shirley Yoder (Bush) of Arnold, Missouri.

Mark was the fiancé, partner and love of his life Shirley Hall for 30 years. Together they lived a simple life in Cedar Hill, enjoying nature, animals, and each other’s company.

Mark proudly served in the US Army as a Specialist (SP4) from 1976 to 1979. He was honorably discharged and received the following: Good Conduct Medal, Sharp Shooter Rifle, and First Class Grenade.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Guy W. Yoder, sister-in-law JoAnn Yoder (Anderson), and sister Linda Luster (Yoder). In addition to his partner, Shirley, Mark leaves behind his sisters Lisa (Steve) Wille and Lora (Mike) Huffman; step-daughters Tina Stewart, Tabitha Hall, and Rachel Shields; nieces and nephews Tina, Bradley, Hannah, Amanda, Shane, Ryan, and Lela; grandchildren Deja, Jordan, Sylvester, Alyssia, Seulata, Tusigaigoa, Tufuga, Stormie, Preston, and Rhaman; and great-grandchildren Destiny, Anthony, Aarionna, Aarin, Penelope, and Josias.

Mark never met a stranger; he could strike up a conversation with anyone (or anything) for hours and hours. He was quite the storyteller, even if he told you the same story a dozen times, and loved writing short stories and poems. He was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. Mark also loved hunting and showing off his dear grandbabies. He was a beloved partner, brother, stepfather, uncle, papa, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Mark was a registered organ and tissue donor. His family takes some comfort in knowing that he gave the gift of life through tissue donation that will help as many as 50 people or more. We ask that his loved ones consider registering as a donor, so that one day they can share a life with others as well. http://www.midamericatransplant.org

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mark’s memory to the American Heart Association.
