Martha Hardy

Martha J. (Callison) Hardy passed peacefully at Oak Hill Nursing Home in Waterloo, IL on 5/5/2019. She served many years at St. Luke’s Hospital as a nurse where she retired only to provide private duty for many more. She set a beautiful example of selfless giving, compassion and understanding of those in need.

Martha was born in Terrell, Tennessee in 1927. As a young adult, she married the late Harold Hardy and moved to St. Louis. She had a profound Christian faith and worshiped and served at Sutter Presbyterian Church for over 55 years. Psalm 46 was highlighted in her Bible. Martha’s final wish, was to donate her remains for medical education.

She is survived by her sister Dora (Callison) Badger of Tiptonville, Tennessee, Cousin Joyce of Hickman, nieces, nephews: Terri, Linda, (Badalamenti), Jimmy (Adams) Charles II, Faye, Greg, Christie (Badger) Retonya, Robert (Lawrence) Debbie and Tina (Callison), Linda Cooper, dear friends Pastor William McConkey and Mr and Mrs. Art Caufmann along with many more beautiful individuals.

Family would like to personally thank the staff at Oak Hill Nursing Home, Hospice of Southern Illinois and Sutter Church for their priceless giving of self. A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at Sutter Presbyterian at a future date.
