Marvin Frederick Siegfried

Marvin Frederick Siegfried was born January 1, 1925 and went to his Heavenly home with the Lord Jesus on June 10, 2023 at the age of 98 years 5 1/3 months.  He was born near Redwood Falls, Minnesota to a family of sharecroppers.  Marv graduated valedictorian and enlisted in the Army Air Corp during WWII.  Upon returning home, he attended the University of Minnesota, earning a Mechanical Engineering degree in 3 years.

Marvin married Beatrice Holt in 1948.  They lived most of their lives in Crystal, Minnesota.  His career spanned 50+ years in the construction / plumbing field.  He was a skilled handyman, never intimidated by any fix-it project.  His hobbies included ballroom dancing, golf, bridge, reading and trivia.

He is survived by his 3 daughters:  Cindy (Don) Diemert, Phoenix, Az;  Jill (Bill) Schmitke, Minneapolis, Mn;  and Jean (Steve) Tyler, St. Louis, Mo; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, as well as his many friends at Autumn View Gardens.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Bea, in 2016; his parents, 5 siblings, and a great-granddaughter.

A Celebration of Life get-together is being planned for the fall.

Memorials may be made in Marvin’s name to the St. Louis Society for the Blind and Visually Impaired

    I knew Marvin when I lived at Autumn View. It was. great Bridge player and I learned so much from him. He will be missed. Always the gentleman but he did not hesitate to point out something if you were out of line. Rest in peace dear Marvin.
