Mary Ann Girshner

GIRSHNER, MARY ANN – (nee Beutel) passed away peacefully on September 18th, 2019 at Delmar Gardens of Meramec Valley in Fenton, Missouri. She was fortified with the Sacrament of the Holy Mother Church. Mary Ann was 74. Mary Ann was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 8, 1944 to the late Paul and Catherine Beutel.

She attended Bishop DuBourg High School and graduated Maryville University with a degree in Business and Marketing. She worked for Maritz Motivation for over thirty years in the Executive Branch of Marketing as well as Project Manager.

Beloved wife of 41 years to the late James Girshner. Loving step-mother to Richard (Robin) Girshner of Sparta, Missouri; David (Monica) Girshner of Sparta, Missouri and Cynthia Girshner (Luy) Alty of Corpus Christi, Texas. Adored Grandmother of Kyle Alty, James Girshner, Kyrie Alty Goodhart, Richard Girshner and David Girshner and 8 Great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Norma (Jack) Schnable of Easton, Maryland; brothers, the late Henry and Ruth Beutel of Owensville, Missouri; Jerome (Jackie) Beutel and Paul (Connie) Beutel, both of St. Louis, Missouri. She was a dear sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend to many people that will truly miss her.

Mary Ann had a zest for life and did everything with a loving and positive attitude. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, singing and playing board games and cards (especially Canasta and Pinoccle). She was an inspiration, teacher and incredibly giving individual. She would always use her season tickets for both Cardinal baseball and the Muny as opportunities to spend quality time with all of us. Mary Ann was a devoted Catholic and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Valley Park, Missouri, where she sang in the choir.

Mary Ann is donating her body to Science. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday September 23rd at Noon at Sacred Heart Parish in Valley Park, Missouri. A private burial is scheduled for a later date for the immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society of St. Louis. Letters of condolences may be sent to Norma Schnable, 29574 Charles Drive, Easton, Maryland 21601

    I cut Mary Ann’s hair for many years and I am saddened to hear of her loss. Prayers for her family, she will be missed.

    I’m sorry to hear of Mary Anne’s passing. My mother loved having her and Norma come to our house before going to school, way back in high school days. She always had a smile for everyone and a wonderful sparkle in her eyes.
